We’re celebrating Pride Month by watching a whole ton of Canadian LGBTQ2S+ flicks. Below are our top picks. Have you seen them all?

  • C.R.A.Z.Y. (2005):  Set in 1960s Quebec, this heartfelt classic follows a young man named Zac as he grapples with his sexuality amidst a conservative family and society.

  • Laurence Anyways (2012):  Xavier Dolan's visually stunning epic follows a decade-long romance between Laurence, a transgender woman, and her partner Fred.

  • I've Heard the Mermaids Singing (1987): A shy temp worker named Polly discovers a hidden talent for photography in this enchanting tale that celebrates the beauty of individuality and the transformative power of art.

  • Closet Monster (2015):  Stephen Dunn’s raw, fantastical coming-of-age story follows Oscar, an artistic teenager who leaves his hometown to confront the monster lying within him.

  • Outrageous! (1977):  Based on the life of drag performer Craig Russell, this film is bold, unapologetic, and perfectly campy.
