AN EXPLORATION OF SIBILANT SOUND WITH RICKY YOUNG ! SIBILANT SOUND IIIIIIIIIIIII Hi there, Here's the Audiophile term of the week:
"Sibilance. Lots of S" sounds in that word, aren't there? Conveniently, the word sibilance is a sibilant word, which tells us
pretty much all we need to now about what sibilance actually is. Put plainly, sibilance is the 'hissing quality that comes along
with some wordsletters in our alphabet, with s being the biggest offender although 't" isn't too far behind. Within the English
language, these hissing sounds exist in some of the harshest registers in the human voice roughly 7kHz-15kHz, depending on the
voice. Left unchecked, these sibilant tones will sound harsh, even painful to the human ear. Here's an example of a very sibilant
production great song though! There are many ways to mitigate these sounds, from vocal technigue to mixingproduction, and of
course, the device you're listening on. That's all folks! You're one more audio term closer to annoying your friends with
production information they never asked for in the first place. But don't worry, I'm that guy too... And if you want to see what's
