I am 42 years young and was born and raised in San Diego, California. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, eternal optimist, world traveler, health nut, and breast cancer thriver. On the Young Survivors Coalition Facebook page, just as I completed chemo, I saw a post inviting anyone diagnosed with breast cancer to share a bit about themselves and why a retreat with other women In a similar chapter would benefit them. I did it, instantly. It called to me. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST OR FAVORITE RETREAT? At that 3 day retreat in October of 2023, we discovered and remembered pieces of ourselves through the reflection of each others desperation and hope. There was a crescendo of love and inspiration that put breast cancer in its rightful place for me, as a very powerful and important note in the margin of my life. WHAT DOES B4BC MEAN TO YOU? I can not express the gift that B4BC gave to me. It was an invitation to speak truthfully and be valued. It was given with repeated love and compassion, and to wake up with the sunrise just to share my gratitude. Most importantly, I was reminded to live fully in the present with the understanding that we are all here for a short but magnificent voyage.
