FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS SAWTOOTH CONFERENCE 2025

The deadline to submit your presentation proposal for the Sawtooth Research Conference is quickly approaching. Submit your proposal by September 16 to be considered for next year's conference.

The 2025 Sawtooth Research Conference will be held May 7-9, 2025 in New Orleans, LA, USA. We invite you to submit a proposal (by September 16) for a roughly 30-minute presentation and written paper! Presentations must be delivered in person.

We are requesting proposals from both practitioners/academics and corporate researchers. We plan to reserve a certain number of speaking slots for corporate researcher-led papers. If we receive enough proposals, we'll hold a separate corporate researchers track.

This is a practitioner-aimed quant conference with practical, results-based research presentations that attendees can take back to the office and use. Papers should appeal to both the least sophisticated and most sophisticated members of the audience.

We're looking to increase diversity in the program in terms of demographics, industries, and new perspectives. If you've never presented at a conference before, we welcome your proposal! Or if you know of great speakers in underrepresented groups, please let us know and we'll invite them to submit.

Deliverables: presenters are required to

  1. Pre-record their presentation on video and deliver it to the committee before the conference for later distribution to attendees
  2. Deliver PowerPoint (or PDF) slides before to the conference for review
  3. Deliver a written paper for the Proceedings a couple of months after the conference
  4. Grant Sawtooth Software rights to your video, slide deck, and written paper for subsequent distribution

Presenters receive a complimentary conference registration (one per presentation).

If you'd like to be on the program:

  • Please respond promptly (by September 16, email: [email protected]) with a one or two-page abstract describing your proposed presentation/paper, with special attention to the findings and what the audience will "take away" from the presentation.
  • Include a 75-word description of your presentation for the conference brochure, plus a headshot for you and any co-authors.

We are interested in papers on a variety of subjects, including general survey issues, large/small screen surveys, combining survey data with market data, AI in marketing research, chat-bot data collection, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), data quality, market segmentation, scale development, customer satisfaction modeling, conjoint/menu/choice analysis, MaxDiff (best-worst scaling), perceptual mapping, recommender systems, hierarchical Bayes methods, forecasting, pricing research, market simulations, search optimization, text analytics, social media analytics, and case studies.

Papers need not involve Sawtooth Software's programs or approach. No proprietary or patented methods are permitted.

We of course welcome proposals involving conjoint analysis and MaxDiff, but we may give slight preference to proposals that involve other topics. Non-conjoint analysis topics won the audience's "best presentation" award at our last three conferences.

If your abstract is accepted, a member of the steering committee will review early drafts of your presentation and offer suggestions. Authors should consider these suggestions conscientiously and rework their presentations as needed. Sawtooth Software reserves the right to remove any author that fails to meet deadlines or produce high-quality work from the program or proceedings.
