“When you talk about Mexican culture, it’s wrestling and soccer.”
- Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio, the legend of the Lucha Libre, and the mystic of the 619. A Mexican treasure who embodied the beautiful mysteries of the country, and who communicated through high-flying, gravity defying stunts in the squared circle of pro wrestling.
Kid Chocolate, the “Cuban Bon Bon,” an artist in the ring who became the World Jr. Lightweight Champion. Kid was said to have had thousands of unsanctioned fights in Cuba. He strutted through the ring as the greatest boxer the country has ever known. As the best dressed man in the early 20th century, he carried himself as the very pulse of Havana.
