The Immune Commune Here's how our team stays well throughout the fall and winter seasons. r . Tonya 1. It's chicken soup for the soul season. I love making broths and soups and do it at least weekly through Fall and Winter. My chicken soup is always loaded with garlic, ginger, lots of lemons, and of course loads of mushrooms like shiitake, reishi, turkey tail and chaga. Don't forget a splash of apple cider vinegar and your kombu for sea-rich minerals. I just escaped the icky cold going around with sleep, soup and mushrooms. 2.I'm into the mushroom combos. Give me all of it. Chaga Turkey Tail 11:11 Reishi give me superpowers.
Holliday 1. My go-to is almost always fresh air fruits. Getting out of my indoor microbiome and breathing in fresher air the outdoor microbiome, even on a cold wintery day, has always helped me keep my defenses up. will also eat more fruit than usual for an extra boost in vitamin C gut-loving fiber. 2.1 often see Chaga in the Ontario forests around this time of year and intuitively reach for it as an immune ally. Plus, I find the Rainbo Chaga so tasty and rich.
Liv 1. Drinking a liter of ginger and lemon tea every day! I definitely notice when I don't have my daily tea; it makes such a difference in reducing the inflammation in my body. 2. Turkey Tail! It's my favourite immunity mushroom to take, specifically because ours is alcohol free and use it as a sweetener for my teas!
Steph 1. My acupuncturist taught me to always keep my feet warm to strengthen my immune system and it works! Whether that's a heating pad under my desk, woolie socks, or midday epsom salt foot soak. 2. Everyone knows my favorite mushroom, summer or winter, is Chaga. It's an immune modulator, meaning it will speed things up when they are sluggish or slow things down when they are overactive. Chaga touts the well deserved name "The King of Mushrooms".
Michelle: 1. 7-8 hours of sleep is an absolute must to support my nervous system and immune system. prioritize catching 2277's! 2. Turkey Tail, duh! This is always the mushroom I intuitively reach for if I'm starting to feel run down or like a cold is coming on. Backed by so much research, this is THE immune mushroom.
