External assessment language speaker recruitment


We’re seeking language speakers to deliver oral language for the development of external assessment in:
  • Asian languages (Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese)
  • European languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish

Student Management — new functionality

New functionality to help schools manage class groups is now available in the QCAA’s Student Management application in the QCAA Portal. Schools can now:

  • create class groups and assign students to class groups
  • filter the Multiple student results screen and import files by class group
  • filter reports by class group.

Updated Senior subject guide

The revised Senior subject guide is now available via the Noticeboard in the QCAA Portal, for users with the appropriate permissions. 

It’s designed for schools to take students and parents/carers through subject selection for Years 11 and 12 and provides information about all QCAA subjects and courses.

Schools can tailor the information in the guide to suit their curriculum offerings. 

 
 

Ancient History and Modern History — external assessment topics

The topics for the QCAA’s Ancient History and Modern History external assessments for 2024, 2025 and 2026 are now available.

Endorsement and confirmation key dates


Endorsement

Endorsement applications for the first two internal assessments for General and Applied (Essential) subjects for the 2025 completion year will open on 13 May. Applications close on 2 August.

Confirmation

The QCAA will start releasing confirmation decisions for the first internal assessment from 14 May via the Confirmation application in the QCAA Portal.

Community of practice planning days

Our face-to-face community of practice planning days give teachers and HODs the opportunity to focus on planning and resource development to support the revised syllabuses. Workshops for the following subjects are available in Term 2 and 3 — click on the subject link to register for your chosen location:

Our syllabus familiarisation webinars continue during May, with a new webinar on 22 May about the QCAA's Career Education Short course. We are also offering a free face-to-face workshop on 16 May.
