PS Audio April, 2024 Newsletter

PS Audio sent this email to their subscribers on April 26, 2024.

Hi PS Audio,

Well, Colorado isn't about to disappoint us with its weather variability.

After the Chicago Axpona show, Terri and I took a couple of days off in Florida's 79˚ weather. We begrudgingly left that lovely climate for Colorado's freezing cold, which quickly turned to an unexpected couple of feet of snow. Yikes!

You learn to make the most of what's thrown at you, so we grabbed a couple of sleds, climbed up a steep incline, and laughed ourselves silly sledding down the hill with our 6-year-old grandson, Leon. The very next day, Sunday, we found ourselves in short-sleeved shirts watching Leon's soccer match. Talk about changes!
Our sledding adventure

The soon to be released FR5 debut

For those who attended the Axpona show (and there were reportedly 10,000 of you), you might have gotten a sneak peek at our latest addition to the aspen loudspeaker line, the amazing (and affordable) FR5 stand-mount speaker.

How many people got their jaws dropped when this small miracle filled our huge room at Axpona? It was amazing. The FR5s will be shipping in early July, and we are currently accepting preorders on this beauty.

Check out this quick video review of the FR5 from Jay's Audio Lab

Jay gets excited showing off PS Audio's latest loudspeaker, the mighty FR5

One the best Octave releases yet

Ever since we launched the aspen loudspeaker series and Octave Records, we've managed to become one of the world's few High End audio companies that does it all from the microphone to your ear. Every step of the way from making the music to the playing of it.

Of all the recordings we've made at Octave, this latest one stands out as my favorite. The first time I got the masters back from Gus Skinas and put them on a pair of Aspen FR10s, I was gobsmacked.

The Art of HiFi: Strings takes us on a journey of stringed instruments like violin, viola, and cello, and some lesser-heard instruments like the nyckelharpa. Each track is a reference quality piece of music that'll really float your boat. Great stuff from Octave.

PS Audio Axpona music playlist

Whenever you come into the PS Audio showroom at Axpona, you'll find us playing a huge variety of music from folk, classical, jazz, and electronic to everything in between. We choose music that's interesting, fun to listen to, and above all, shows off the extraordinary range of the PS system from loudspeakers, to amplifiers.

We are often asked for a list of what we play at those shows. So, I put together a partial playlist that you can copy and build for yourself on whatever streaming platform you like. To access that list, click on this link, which will take you to the PS Audio forums.

Last, but certainly not least

For this month's newsletter is something really fun. When we were putting together the show at Axpona, our son, Scott, had a cool idea. He set his phone on stop motion and videoed the entire setup process from beginning to end. What's interesting is that most people have no clue what it takes to setup an entire exhibit room in one day. Think about it. We ship in 14 pallets of equipment, we have to unbox and seup everything, plus an entire audio system and get it to sound good in one, long, day. It's amazing.

Until next week

I certainly am excited about the fact our fruit trees are blossoming, we've got some incredible new products launching in May (a new Strata MK2 integrated), the FR5, and other exciting projects I am not allowed to talk about yet...but maybe soon. :)

Be well and let's chat next month
