Join us for a three-day experience that celebrates the creativity and achievements of our graduating students. O-Launch highlights include the Annual Exhibition, with displays throughout the campus featuring work by students from every department in the College, a fashion show held in the commons, MFA Fine Arts open studios, as well as ceramics and book sales. The event kicks off with an industry preview, during which employers can connect directly with students while seeing their work firsthand. Lastly, the weekend culminates with the Otis College commencement ceremony, which includes special guest speakers and influential honorary degree recipients. LAUNCH SCHEDULE Industry Preview Friday, May 12, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Campuswide Employers representing Los Angeles' creative industries will connect with graduating Otis College students who are shaping the future of art and design. Fashion Show Friday, May 12, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Campus Commons The fashion show demonstrates mastery of skills developed under the tutelage of industry professionals. This year’s theme is Artistic License. This is a separate, ticketed event where limited standing room is available to the public. Get Free Tickets Annual Exhibition Saturday, May 13 | Campuswide  This campus-wide event will showcase graduating student work across the College’s BFA and MFA Fine Arts programs as well as Interdisciplinary Studies. MFA Fine Arts Open Studios Friday, May 12, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 1:00-5:00 p.m. Explore the individual studios of Otis MFA candidates, meet and talk with the artists, and see, firsthand, why the Otis MFA program is one of the most vibrant, diverse, relevant, and vital fine arts graduate programs. Otis Ceramic Student Sale Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13 | Clay Studio, Galef 114 This event holds historic meaning beginning with Peter Voulkos in the 1950s, Helen Watson and Robert Glover in the 1960’s and 70’s, Ralph Bacerra in the 1980’s and 90’s, and Joan Takayama-Ogawa since 2011. Book Sale Friday, May 12, 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, Noon - 10:00 p.m. The Millard Sheets Library Book Sale returns. We will be selling new and gently used books, including art exhibition catalogs. All proceeds benefit the Library. Commencement Sunday, May 14 | El Camino College O-Launch ‘23 will culminate in Otis College’s Commencement ceremony to be held at the El Camino College on Sunday, May 14, 2023. During the event, the College will award honorary degrees. Discover O-Launch PARKING INFORMATION Free parking is available in our Parking Garage on a first come, first served basis.
