Hypovolemic Shock
* Definition
* Loss of blood volume leading to decreased oxygenation of vital organs
* The body’s compensatory mechanisms fail and organs begin to shut down.
* Possible Causes
* Vomiting/diarrhea x days
* Severe burns
* Traumatic injury
* Hemorrhage (surgical, obstetric)
