New Resource: Spotlight on State Actions & Investments in the Early Childhood Workforce

Due in part to the tireless and effective work of NAEYC affiliates, advocacy partners, early childhood educators, and allies in Governors’ offices and state legislatures, the early childhood workforce celebrated many legislative wins in 2024! We are happy to share , where we have compiled key outcomes from this year’s legislative sessions. While not exhaustive, the examples shared demonstrate the broad scope of policy and funding actions across states, highlighting both promising steps to support early childhood professionals, as well as challenging trends the field continues to face.

ICYMI: CGLR Webinar

Last week, we joined the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading for a webinar that provided a powerful look into the disconnect between early care and education in the United States as reflected in Dan Wuori’s new book, The Daycare Myth: What We Get Wrong About Early Care and Education (and What We Should Do About It).

NAEYC's Daniel Hains joined as a commentator, stating that it was "really encouraging to see states taking those lessons from the pandemic. When we invest in child care and early learning, and when we invest in early childhood educators, it makes a real difference.”
