Vertical Blue Recap

Day 4-6

Vertical Blue icon

The second act of Vertical Blue 2022 is over, and it was filled with love, success, disappointment, and remembrance. Highlights include a new absolute World Record by Arnaud Jerald of France (CWTB 119m/390ft), a proposal from Spanish CWTB National Record Holder Alfredo Roën to his girlfriend (she said yes!), a surprising 123m (404ft) CWT performance and 124m (407ft) FIM performance by Mateusz Malina of Poland, a heartbreaking red card for Şahika Ercümen of Turkey after saying “oh my god” during the surface protocol of her 88m (289ft) FIM National Record attempt, and a beautiful celebration of the life of Carla Sue Hanson, who was the president of AIDA and passed away in 2020.

We also watched Vitomir Maričić (CRO) testing out the new PRO Monofin 4 Fiberglass and PRO Hyper Bifins Fiberglass, which lead to white card performances and a new 101m (331ft) CWTB National Record!
