Nia:wen to the Iakhihsohtha staff and volunteers for planning awesome activities and to all that made this wonderful week possible for the residents and their families! PHOTO OF THE WEEK 2024 AKWESASNE WINTER CARNIVAL: MCA VS SRMT BATTLE ROYALE After a long hiatus, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne once again faced off against the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe for the 2024 MCA vs. SRMT Battle Royale. This epic showdown marked four years since the last Battle Royale was held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although MCA came up short for the overall win, everyone in attendance enjoyed a fun day of Akwesasne team building and camaraderie. MCA congratulates the Tribe in showing up with great enthusiasm and talent. Nia:wen to those who organized all the activities and thanks to all staff who participated in the events. We will be ready for you next year SRMT! GRAND CHIEF ABRAM BENEDICT REPORT Council Meeting Update: Please note that due to the holiday closure on Monday, February 19 (Family Day), there was no Council meeting. Interruptions of power will then follow starting on April 15, 2024, for customers who have not settled their situation, either by making a payment arrangement or by paying off their overdue amount.
