Spring Correction & My Care Routine
Modern Botanical sent this email to their subscribers on March 17, 2023.
Hi - quick correction to our Spring Sale. End date is Wednesday, March 22nd, 11:59PM PST, not March 3rd as previously sent :)
Discount code at checkout is SPRING and good for 20% off your entire order. Click here to shop now!
Also while you're reading - it can't hurt to suggest a quick spring-time refresh of any plants growing in water. My care routine this year was as follows:
- Day 1 - Any plants showing algae in the water or on the roots, I added a half teaspoon of Hydrogen Peroxide per 8oz of water (typical MOBO vase holds 6oz) and let that sit for 12 to 24 hours. The Hydrogen Peroxide breaks down the algae and will help remove it all which is helpful to do prior to brighter and longer light reaching it as days get longer
- Day 2 - replace the water on all plants while lightly running my hands through the roots to remove any that the plant has moved on from and removing any roots remaning from soil that have not transitioned to water. This is a great time to take another pass at removing any lingering soil! Add nutrients on water refresh and trim any leaves needing removal.
- Day 16 - refresh water on a shorter cycle to give plant roots better access to oxygen and get them prepped for a healthy round of new growth this spring!
Thank you all for staying in touch with us! Always here for questions.
Best,
Conrad
