Automatic Programmes
What’s the difference between gelato, ice cream and granita?
GELATO
Italy’s version of ice cream. It is traditionally made with less fat and sugar content compared to ice cream. It is churned at a slower pace, incorporating less air, making it soft and silky in texture.
ICE CREAM
Ice cream is made from the same components as gelato - milk, sugar and air, however there is generally more fat and sugar in traditional ice cream. It is also churned faster, letting more air in.
GRANITA
Granita is an Italian frozen delight made from water and sugar mixed with fruit, coffee, or nuts. It is traditionally made by freezing the mixture and scraping it with a fork every 30 minutes to achieve a refreshing, crunchy texture. With the Gelato Expert, it can be achieved with a push of a button.
