Catherine here! At LiveCoco, we're all about making a positive impact. Climate change is of course a big concern. The use of
carbon credits is an option many people are utilising right now, in order to offset their personal carbon emissions.
Quick explanation of what they are, if you're not aware...
One "carbon credit" represents the removal of 1 tonne of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The idea is that, we emit carbon
dioxide everyday via activities such as driving a car. So, you can buy carbon credits to neutralise these emissions.
We've been looking into these for ourselves for a while now and realised how muddy the waters really are, when it comes to knowing
where to obtain legitimate carbon credits...
We found it to be confusing, with major worries about fake projects. That's why we're exploring offering verified credits from
VERRA, an organisation involved in verifying environmental projects. And in addition, something we can verify personally, and not
just relying on VERRA.
These verified credits would ensure your support goes towards real initiatives that remove carbon dioxide.
Oh and FYI-I'm also very aware that this might be a touchy subject. We honestly don't have all the answers and are just trying our
best. We just wanted to gauge interest as we have been asked by some customers about them quite recently.
