Bonjour kitchfix-meal!
WOO HOO! It’s the weekend! Congrats on making it through another work week :) The weekends serve a different purpose for everybody. Some like to use it as a time to hit the town and socialize with friends. Others like to deep clean the house or tackle that DIY project they’ve been procrastinating on. With the good weather in Chicago, I’ve been loving using my weekends to get outside, get far away from screens, and get active!
Last weekend, a group of friends and I went on a 21 mile bike ride. For people who are into cycling, that certainly isn’t a lot of miles but for me it was a big achievement. It felt so good to explore the city, feel the wind on my face, and get my blood pumping! Some other activities I’ve been loving are training for a 5k, taking long walks in my neighborhood, and learning to play tennis.
As children, we often hop from sport to sport, exploring what we like and what suits us best. I’ve found that as adults we can really lose that sense of fun that comes with a lot of activities. If you’ve ever wanted to do ballet, play soccer, or finally learn how to rollerblade (the rollerbladers on the lakefront make it look so fun!!) - I highly encourage you to take a class, buy a soccer ball, get outside and try all the things you’ve been holding out on doing. Not only is it good for your body, but for your mind and soul, too!
Of course, we can’t speak about all that activity without also speaking about the food we need to fuel that fun weekend exercise. Some activities require you to fuel up before, others after, and certainly every person’s body requires different fuel. But, where you can’t go wrong is using our Kitchfix meals to get the nutrients you need in a delicious way.
Perhaps you like keeping your meals a bit lighter before heading out for an activity - you might wanna try our Blackened Mahi Mahi with Cauliflower Rice or our Fennel and Golden Beet Salad. Perhaps you need to get some extra protein in after a long day on your bike - I’d recommend our Ultimate Burger Protein Fix which has over 30g of protein. Maybe you want to eat a bit more carbs the night before you’re doing a longer run - how about enjoying our Chicken Pad Thai for dinner, then? This dish is packed with flavor and has 44g of carbohydrates!
What form of exercise are you loving right now? What Kitchfix meals have you been fueling up with? We’d love to hear over at [email protected]!
