Anderson Road near Cheney to close as railroad crossing gets repaved Thursday, April 18

CHENEY – Travelers who use Anderson Road east of Cheney at the railroad crossing should plan additional travel time to avoid delays as maintenance crews for the Washington State Department of Transportation repave the crossing.

Beginning at 7 a.m., until 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, crews will repave the railroad crossing located at approximately the 4000 block of West Anderson Road near the intersection with South Curtis Road. , which is seven miles east of Cheney between State Route 904 and US 195.

During the closure, a 15-minute detour will be signed via South Goss Road to South Gardner Road to West Washington Road.

This section of railway is owned by the state and is part of the P&L Line which is owned by the state and operated by Spokane, Spangle and Palouse Railway and is part of the overall state owned PCC (Palouse River and Coulee City) short-line system.
