News in brief:
Norse Atlantic swaps Fort Lauderdale for Miami
Norse Atlantic continues to tweak its schedules. After announcing a raft of Winter Sun destinations, including Barbados, Kingston and Montego Bay, the airline has made a further change to its Autumn / Winter timetable with the addition of Miami.
Departing from Gatwick, the flights will operate four times a week from 18th September on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flight times vary slightly by day:
Z0 721 departs at 2pm and arrives at 6:35pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Z0 721 departs at 10am and arrives at 2:35pm on Sundays
Return flights are equally varied, with the Sunday return three hours earlier than normal.
The route will replace Fort Lauderdale, which is the Gatwick or Stansted equivalent of the greater Miami area. Norse Atlantic says that “Customers travelling on our Fort Lauderdale route after 17 September will be rebooked onto our new Miami service or offered a full refund.”
They are priced at 75,000 points per pair. This seems pricey to me – you’d get a £250 hotel room for that – but let’s see.
Here is what you get:
“Join Hilton’s exclusive Pride in London after-party on the rooftop at The Trafalgar St. James London, Curio Collection by Hilton, overlooking Trafalgar Square and London’s spectacular skyline. This invite-only event begins as the march draws to a close, serving guests free-flowing drinks, colorful canapes, and a whole lot of “Yas, Queen!” Be prepared to strut your stuff with drag performances as we celebrate the 51st year of Pride in London.
This experience for two (2) includes:
Tickets to Hilton’s exclusive Pride in London after-party on Saturday, July 1, 2023
Complimentary drinks and canapes with a colorful twist
Leading entertainment and performances”

Virgin Atlantic brings back twilight check-in at Manchester Airport
Virgin Atlantic is re-introducing twilight check-in at Manchester Airport. Previously available pre-covid, it was dropped in 2020.
The service is available every day between 4pm and 8pm for flights the following day. According to the announcement tweet, Virgin Atlantic will “validate your passport, tag your bag, and ensure it’s loaded on your flight.”
Checking your bag and getting your boarding passes the evening before means you can head straight through security before your flight and skip any potential queues at check-in. The last Virgin Atlantic flight is around 2pm on most days, so twilight check-in should save you queuing – especially if you’re flying economy.
Unfortunately, Virgin Atlantic does not offer a twilight check-in service at Heathrow.

NORSE ATLANTIC SWAPS FORT LAUDERDALE FOR MIAMI
Norse Atlantic continues to tweak its schedules. After announcing a raft of Winter Sun destinations, including Barbados, Kingston
and Montego Bay, the airline has made a further change to its Autumn / Winter timetable with the addition of Miami.
Departing from Gatwick, the flights will operate four times a week from 18th September on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and

Flight times vary slightly by day:
* Z0 721 departs at 2pm and arrives at 6:35pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Return flights are equally varied, with the Sunday return three hours earlier than normal.

that “Customers travelling on our Fort Lauderdale route after 17 September will be rebooked onto our new Miami service or offered
a full refund.”
Flights to Miami are now bookable on the Norse website and start at £450, although that only gets you the basics – no seat
reservation, luggage or food included. You can read our review of flying Premium on Norse Atlantic from Gatwick to New York here.

ATTEND HILTON’S LONDON PRIDE AFTER-PARTY ON POINTS
If you are in London for Pride on 1st July, Hilton Honors is holding a private party on the roof of The Trafalgar hotel in

Four pairs of tickets (as at 9pm last night) are available via the Hilton ‘experiences’ platform here.
They are priced at 75,000 points per pair. This seems pricey to me – you’d get a £250 hotel room for that – but let’s see.
