WELCOME TO THE - Vi N 9-DAY GREEN SMOOTHIE Za CHALLENGE f; fonicis.

Hi green-smoothie-girl!

Today, I want to answer a couple of common questions for Level 2 Challengers who are replacing 2 meals a day with green smoothies. (And you’ll find today’s recipe at the end of this email.)

Q: If I’m hungry, what should I do?

A: Do you have essential fatty acids and extra (very clean) protein in your smoothies? Adding these will make a huge difference in how hungry you feel.

>> The easiest and cleanest source is our Smoothie Success Pack, which you can get for a discount during this Challenge.

Organic, sprouted, high-Omega-3 seeds are the best nutrition possible to cover your essential fatty acids.

(Because I know some people will wonder: I’m not a fan of fish oil. It’s almost always rancid when you take it, and most of the fish of the world are tainted with heavy metals. I’m a fan of eating whole foods with all their synergistic nutritional properties, including fiber, and the lignans and soluble fiber in flaxseed that mop up toxins.)

If you’re very active, or you’re a man with a lot of muscle mass, and you’re feeling more hungry than you’d like, consider drinking MORE than a quart of smoothie per meal. Or consider having a snack of fresh fruit, steamed vegetables, or a handful of nuts like almonds, cashews, or pecans.

Q: What if I have a headache, low energy, diarrhea, or another detox reaction?

A: Green smoothies are highly detoxifying! You’re getting more raw, organic, plant-based food than you have for many years, or maybe ever. In addition to lots more soluble and insoluble fiber, there are over 100 micronutrients that help cleanse the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, and more. Such a drastic change in your diet is bound to have consequences, at least for a little while.

Drinking extra water and resting a little extra is helpful.

We find that many people increasing their green smoothie intake also DECREASE their water consumption. That’s not a great idea, because even though greens and superfoods can be diuretics that send you running to the bathroom to pee more often, water is needed to flush, as well. There is no substitute!

Stick with it!

Have you ever made your own almond milk? It’s easier than you might think. !

9-Day Green Smoothie Challenge Tip:

Can I make ahead and freeze smoothies?

Sure--but you’ll still want to blend or shake (in a jar or other covered container) a thawed green smoothie, since freezing will change the texture some.

Another idea is to assemble and freeze the ingredients for each green smoothie together (you can even freeze greens!), eliminating all but blending time.
