Meet Our Summer Interns in Santa Fe and Abiquiú

This summer, college students joined the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, and a group of high school students and recent graduates spent the summer in Abiquiú as part of the internship program at the Museum. Read all about the interns and their interests!

Santa Fe | Georgia O’Keeffe Museum

Nine interns participated in the Museum’s summer internship program. Six interns led the Art & Leadership Program, while three interns worked in various departments throughout the Museum.

Abiquiú |  Abiquiú Garden Project

Local high school students and recent graduates visited the O’Keeffe Home & Studio garden each week to plant, care for, and harvest the many fruits and vegetables originally grown by Georgia O’Keeffe.

Every year, the Art & Leadership Program concludes with an art exhibition celebrating the work created by young artists throughout the summer! This year, the exhibition will include various mediums such as paintings, illustrations, sculpture, ceramics, fused glass, and much more.


Join us to celebrate the wonderful creativity of Santa Fe’s middle school youth!

The show will be up until August 22, 2024. MondayFriday, 9 AM–5 PM.

Join us at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum to explore the magic behind creating a mini zine! This activity is great for kids and families of all ages. For children 3 and younger, coloring pages will be provided!

The New Mexico Museum of Art will host a presentation by Cristina Kahlo, the acclaimed Mexican contemporary photographer. Kahlo will present a body of work that is a visual conversation through the intimate living and studio spaces of artists Georgia O’Keeffe and Frida Kahlo.

Every week, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum offers classes in partnership with experienced teaching artists. Join a class today for lessons in watercolor, oil, pastel, mixed media, and more!
