"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way— things I had no words for.” — Georgia
O’Keeffe
📍 Georgia O’Keeffe Museum
A Circle that Nothing Can Break explores how Georgia O’Keeffe imbued shapes—the circle in particular—with emotional symbolism and
abstract ideas. Circles and spirals appeared repeatedly in O’Keeffe’s drawings of the 1910s. The motif all but disappeared from
her work in 1946. In the 1970s, near the close of her career, she returned to the theme.
This upcoming exhibition delves into a vitally significant theme in O’Keeffe’s life and artistic career, and includes works never
exhibited during her lifetime.

of green; A red wave peaks near the left edge of the work and then curves across the paper toward the right side. A red circle is
located in the trough of the wave.; Three broad, blue horizontal lines fill the center of the paper. A blue circle rests above the
lines, while a second, slightly larger circle lies just below the lines.
