Dear Food Tank: The Food Think Tank,

Dear Elena,

I am excited to share that renowned chef, writer, and editor Ruth Reichl will be joining us for an exclusive interactive virtual conversation open ONLY to Food Tank members on Wednesday, January 24 at 12:00PM ET.

We will discuss "Food and Country," an incredible new film which has been praised as "revelatory" and "a balm but also a map." If you aren’t already part of Food Tank’s network of grassroots members, I hope you will join now by clicking HERE so that you can participate in my discussion with Reichl and ask us questions of your own. Members who sign up before the event will also receive a special link that grants you early access to watch "Food and Country," not available to anyone else.

The documentary follows Reichl as she reaches across political and social divides to discover innovators who are risking it all to survive on the front lines. As one person leads her to the next, she follows the unfolding stories of ranchers in Kansas and Georgia, farmers in Nebraska, Ohio, and the Bronx, a New England fisher, and maverick chefs on both coasts. Reichl also shares pieces of her own life, and in doing so, begins to take stock of the path she has traveled and the ideals she left behind. It's a powerful film and you can be among the very first to watch it by clicking HERE and joining Food Tank now!

One of the most influential figures shaping American food culture, Reichl has served as the restaurant critic for the Los Angeles Times and New York Times and editor-in-chief of Gourmet Magazine. She is the author of books including Tender at the Bone, Comfort Me with Apples, Save Me the Plums, Delicious!, and My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes that Saved My Life. Reichl is the recipient of six James Beard Awards.

Already a Food Tank member and not sure if you received the screening details yet? Reach out to Elena at [email protected] and she will make sure that you have the private link and details for the meeting on January 24.

In 2024, we’re working to create more member opportunities like these than ever before, so please sign up today!

I hope to see you in a couple of weeks!

Best,

Dani
