A few days ago, I ate a rattlesnake.
I had it for dinner in Sedona after speaking at BK LIVE. It seemed like the right thing to do— you know, the whole “when in Rome”
thing.
Although its taste wasn’t too impressive (6/10), there is something else very impressive about these creatures that you need to
know. It just may change the course of your day… and life.
Rattlesnakes shed their skin up to four times per year during a process called ecdysis. They ditch their old skin because it no
longer fits them. It becomes constricting, worn, and a home for parasites.
For their growth and health, shedding is critical.
So on this Thursday, I ask you, Few Will Hunt:
When is the last time that YOU shed your skin?
Are you walking around in skin— a self— that you know you’ve outgrown? Can you feel it constricting you and calling you to break
free?
Maybe it’s a habit that you need to shed. Maybe it’s a mindset of lack or limitation. Maybe it’s a social circle that doesn’t
serve you.
Whichever it is, know that the only way to grow into your 2.0 self is to shed your 1.0 self. There is no way around this. It is
natural law.
It will certainly be an uncomfortable process, maybe even painful at times… but I can guarantee it will not be as painful as
staying the same.
Today, choose growth.
Shed what no longer serves you. Leave your 1.0 self behind, and don’t look back. We aren’t here forever. Free yourself and move
forward now.
