We hope that everyone is having a great Saturday evening and that you are all gradually clocking off this great month on a positive note. Today we're going to talk about the benefits of deep breathing. Do you find yourself busy doing something and realize that you have been breathing in tiny little breaths and think to yourself "How long have I been breathing like this for?" because I have. Imagine how many hours you spend like this a day unnoticed.
Initially, every living organism requires oxygen to live. Oxygen allows our bodies to break down food and turn it into energy. Oxygen is breathed into our lungs and goes into our cells in our bloodstream and travels throughout the body. Lack of Oxygen can really negatively impact our mind and body in so many ways including fatigue, cardiovascular issues, stress, and a lot more.
The benefits of deep breathing include:
- Decreases stress, and increases calm
- Relieves pain
- Improve sleep, focus, and concentration
- Stabilizes health weight
- Stimulates the lymphatic system (Detoxifies the body)
- Improves immunity
- Increases energy
- Lowers blood pressure
- Improves digestion
- Helps support correct posture, plus so much more!
Two years ago, I discovered this really amazing person named Wim Hoff, who has so much valuable information about deep breathing. He also has a youtube channel that provides guided deep breathing sessions on youtube. I use it every time I can, preferably every day, I have seen so many benefits, the one I appreciate the most is that I stress less and have so much more energy.
