Hello, from Age Friendly Seattle!

Happy summer to y'all! Here are some exciting opportunities happening around our city. We encourage you to take advantage of these events and programs and share with your friends and family.

If you have not already, check our new anti-ageism training! Read on for details about this and more.

We ❤ Aging—Anti-Ageism Training LAUNCHED!

Ageism is a pervasive force that harms our health, economic security, and social connections. To combat this, Age Friendly Seattle created and launched the ‘We ❤ Aging: Anti-Ageism Training’, available now for community members and organizations.

In this 45-minute training, you will:

  • Learn how ageism hurts us all
  • Explore how changing our own mindset around aging can extend our lives (really!)
  • Gain practical tips for becoming anti-ageist
  • Hear personal stories of aging from real Seattle residents

Check out the training and become part of the worldwide movement to change the way we think about aging. Then, share with your networks. There are resources included, as well as links to discussion toolkits to help you start a conversation around this important topic among colleagues, volunteers, work teams, friends and even family.

If you’re interested in facilitating a conversation at your workplace or with another group, the Age Friendly team would be happy to support you. As we continue to roll out this training, there may be opportunities for volunteers to help us lead discussions and reach out to new partners. If you’d like to join us in these efforts, we’d love to hear from you! Connect with us at [email protected].

Don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected] with any questions or comments!
