05/13/2023 - Distributed Load Testing upgrade on AWS

Summary

Distributed Load Testing on AWS (DLTA) version 3.2.1 upgrade in the AWS Service Catalog.
DLTA is the solution developed by AWS, customized by CMS Cloud team to help CMS ADOs automate the creation of test execution infrastructure for the performance testing of their software applications at scale.

Actions we are taking

DLTA v3.2.1 will be added to cms-cloud-product-share portfolio in AWS Service Catalog.

When is this happening?

Start time: Saturday 05/13/2023 at 10:00 a.m. ET
End time: Saturday 05/13/2023 at 11:00 a.m. ET

Who will be impacted?

All CMS AWS customers of DLTA.

What is the impact?

There is no immediate impact to the current customers with older version of DLTA launched in their AWS accounts, but we strongly recommend upgrading to this version for feature enhancements, bugfixes and security fixes.

NOTE: This version does not support upgrading from previous versions. Please terminate the older version implemented in your AWS account prior to launching the new version.

Benefits of the change

Feature enhancements introduced in this release:

  • Task limits based on on-demand vCPU quotas for the account along with currently running Fargate tasks.
  • Table to the console when creating a test to visualize available Fargate quotas.
  • Auto-refresh functionality
  • AppRegistryAWS Service Catalog AppRegistry support for all deployments of the solution.
  • Multi-region load test support
  • Real time data on UI for running tests
  • Link to S3 test results in the test details
  • Updated to blazemeter/taurus version 1.16.9
