What’s Happening on Medic Media?

Lucy Letby, former neonatal nurse, has been found guilty of the murder of seven babies in the neonatal unit of Countess of Chester Hospital. Reportedly, she also attempted the murder of six other infants. Following the verdict, Letby has been declared the most prolific killer of children in modern British history.

The above tweet alerted medic social media to claims that the hospital’s former CEO, Tony Chambers, may have played a part in the tragedy.

Twitter users accused Chambers of criminal negligence for not allowing paediatricians to call out to police for an investigation. This case acts as a harrowing reminder of the importance of good reporting practice in hospitals.

This is absolutely devastating news, and our thoughts and prayers go out towards the grieving families.

How do you study close to exam season?
D: I use question banks a lot and study for my written exams by myself in a quiet space. For OSCE exams I tend to practice with people.

And how do you avoid burnout?
D: Balancing studying, rest, and chores is essential for me to stay in good mood. Make sure to create a nice atmosphere when you study for a long time. It's not always fun but it shouldn't feel like torture. I usually put on some incense and play my favourite songs in the background.

Any final words?
D: My advice for everyone studying at home is to get a nice computer chair. You'll be sat down for a while!
