JUST STOP IN DURING OUR REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday Closed Memorial Day GET DIRECTIONS * Who can get free ice? * To get free bags of ice from us, you'll need to be a veteran, active military personnel, or own a Big Frig cooler. You must bring proof that you qualify. Bring your Veteran ID, Military ID, or your Big Frig cooler with you. * Where can I get this free ice? * You can get ice at Big Frig HQ: 610 Freedom Dr. Ste 2, North Sioux City, SD 57049. * When can I pick up ice? * Free ice will be available during our regular business hours (9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday) now through the end of May. Please note that we will be closed on Memorial Day. * How much free ice can I get? * We will try to give at least 20 lbs (about 3 bags) of ice to everyone who qualifies, up to once per day. If our stockpile is running low, we may choose to limit the amount given so we can serve more people. * Is the ice made with good water? * You bet! Our ice is made with water purified through a commercial-grade reverse osmosis filtration system. * Do I have to make a purchase to get free ice? * Not necessarily. If you aren't a veteran or active military personnel, you'll need to own a Big Frig cooler to get free ice. If you don't own a Big Frig cooler either, then you would need to buy one first. * Will you ship free ice to me? * No! That would be stupid for so many reasons. * Do veterans and military personnel of any nation qualify for free ice? * Unless you bring a Big Frig cooler with you, you must be a veteran or military personnel of the United States armed forces to get free ice. Military personnel of nations hostile to the US, however, do qualify for a different promotion where we will put them on ice for free. * Is this a terrible idea? Will you do it again sometime? * Maybe! Free stuff makes people do weird things. We've wanted to do something like this for years, but it seems like every time we do any kind of giveaway some jackasses unscrupulous individuals take advantage and ruin it for everyone. (Seriously, we had an open house once with free burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc. Some guy went through the line and stuffed a bunch of hamburger patties in his bag and hustled back to his car.) * Are there any other rules? * Probably! This seemed like such a simple, fun promotion when we first thought of it, but years in business have taught us that nothing is simple and some people can't not look a gift horse in the mouth.
