You know your toes need to be the widest part of your foot to improve your balance, foot health, mobility, and maybe most importantly…help you move pain-free!
But how can you go from a 'No Space Nancy" to an "Ample Space Anne"?
It's straightforward, but like with most things, you need some preparation.
But don't worry, we aren't asking you to take time out of your day or do toe exercises (yes, these are a thing).
You can start rebuilding your toe and foot function without taking time out of your day, so you never miss a step 😎
To start, here are some tips to get your toes in tip-top shape:
- Walk barefoot as much as possible - Feel your toes spread as you roll from your heel to your toes in every step.
- Wiggle your toes - Practice lifting your big toe separate from your other toes and vice versa to practice your toe coordination
- Push off with your toes - Focus on pushing through your big toe every step. Your big toe is supposed to propel you forward, so let it.
These are just the appetizers bearfoot-athletics...
You can only do these tips so so long before hitting a wall.
Don't get us wrong. You might not need or want to do more.
But If you want your toes to be top performers, it requires a small lifestyle change.
Because if your current lifestyle habits scrunched your toes together, you need new habits to spread them apart.
Remember, nothing worth having is easy in life, so if you want better stability, mobility, and reduced foot pain.
