Mouton-Rothschild Vertical

"This is a multi-dimensional First Growth with a very persistent finish. Mouton-Rothschild? Bingo."
–Neal Martin, Vinous

With a flavor profile as distinctive as its original art labels custom-designed for each new vintage, the iconic Chateau Mouton-Rothschild is one of a kind, known for its elegant and sumptuous richness built on powerful Cabernet Sauvignon that rewards patient collectors with decades upon decades of enjoyment. Benefiting from our long-term relationships in the region, this exciting, limited offer of top-rated Mouton-Rothschild gives Bordeaux lovers and collectors an opportunity to stock up on exceptional back vintages aged in pristine conditions and delivered ex-Chateau, for a limited time at unbeatable pricing that guarantees a quick sell-out.

Known as the only Chateau to ever succeed in changing its 1855 Classification to become First Growth in 1973, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild’s meticulously tended gardens, gleaming new cellars and the stunning Chateau itself are all built to impress, but none outshine the estate's stunning Grand Vins themselves, crafted under the direction of the legendary "Winemaker of the Decade" Philippe Dhalluin who managed Mouton-Rothschild until 2020. Arriving from Brainaire-Ducru in 2003, Dhalluin initiated improvements that have paid quality dividends for years, limiting yields and employing strict selection with only 50% of the harvest making the final cut for the Grand Vin. Located on the Grand Plateau of Mouton neighboring Lafite, Chateau Mouton Rothschild's 83-hectare vineyard for the Grand Vin is planted to 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remainder Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot in mostly a contiguous parcel. Averaging 50 years of age with some over 130 years, the Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted in unique soils composed of an astounding 98% gravel with the remaining 2% clay on small hills rising up to 29 meters, the highest points in Pauillac. Hand harvested at optimal ripeness by the same dedicated workers year over year, Philippe Dhalluin vinified the grapes from the older and younger vines in each parcel separately, always aging the Grand Vin in 100% new French oak between 19 and 22 months, yielding long-lived wines of incredible depth and concentration with a luscious fruit profile and caressing silky tannins.

Coming from some of the top Bordeaux vintages of the last two decades, the 99pt 2009 Chateau Mouton Rothschild is a "stunning wine" that's simply "magnificent" according to the Wine Advocate's Neal Martin, while the Wine Spectator's James Molesworth calls the 100pt 2010 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild "a battleship of a wine" summing it up as "awesome." Detailing Mouton's signature nuances of "graphite, lead pencil shavings, floral, and Asian spice aromas and flavors," critic Jeb Dunnuck crowned the 99pt 2015 Mouton-Rothschild "one of the longest-lived wines of the vintage" while Inside Bordeaux's Jane Anson called the 100pt 2016 Mouton-Rothschild "monumental," ranked by James Suckling as "one of the most powerful Mouton’s ever" that the Wine Advocate declared, in a word, "magic."

Representing the pinnacle of Bordeaux and among the world's greatest wines, these perfectly cellared selections from Chateau Mouton-Rothschild are available on a limited basis, some ready to enjoy and all poised to reward Bordeaux lovers for decades to come. All outstanding choices, don't hesitate to secure yours – in the blink of an eye, they'll be gone.
