Art Toolkit ADVENTURE ART SUPPLY
Dear art-toolkit,
My daughter turns eight today, and I’m so proud to watch her grow into her strong, imaginative, and dear self. When she was born, we lived in Seattle, and Art Toolkit was my part-time passion project. We’ve now lived in Port Townsend for over seven years, and it’s been incredible and humbling to witness our daughter’s growth alongside the growth of Art Toolkit. I’m grateful for you, our creative and inspiring community, near and far.

“What’s in My Duotone Ocean Art Toolkit?

Max Romey is our resident videographer and adventuring artist Ambassador, and he wants to share a little bit of what is in his new Duotone Ocean A5 Art Toolkit and why it fits his lifestyle as an artist. Whether you’re gearing up for a trip of your own or love to learn about others’ adventures, our latest blog post and short video by Max is a must-see! Here’s a taste:
Max’s set-up for plein air cabin painting featuring Art Toolkit supplies
The most important art supply you can have is whatever you have with you, and I’m constantly on the move,” Max shares about his Art Toolkits. In a short video about his kit, he adds, “It’s been a game-changer for me, and I don’t have to worry about carrying all of this,” he motions to all the supplies he is carrying in his hands.
In a snowy field, two hands hold up a sketchbook and palette showing a sketch of the horizon.
A person stands on a gravel path in the woods, holding up a blue Toolkit and a ripped-open shipping envelope, their eyes just showing over the top of the kit.
Holding up the new Art Toolkit, he says, “With this, I don’t really have to choose, and it makes a huge difference. Try it out!” As a parting thought, Max shares a piece of advice: “It’s good to know your kit inside and out, so when you’re painting in the dark, it’s second nature.”

Four vibrant panoramic watercolor sketches of mountains, canyons, and fields.
Max Romey is known for his brightly-colored landscapes and the paintings he daringly undertakes way up in the mountains and all over the alpine trails of Alaska. In addition to sharing short-form content on Instagram and his website, he uses his unique blend of watercolors and videography to highlight complex environmental problems affecting Alaskan and global communities.
Thanks, Max, for sharing about your new kit! We are looking forward to where it takes you, and you it! Read “What’s in My Duotone Ocean Art Toolkit?” and see a list of the supplies Max fits in his Toolkit on our blog! Photos courtesy of Max.
