San Antonio Base Targeted in Multiple Shootings

Two shootings occurred at a Joint Base San Antonio entrance gate early Saturday, prompting security forces to return fire.

The incidents occurred just before 5 a.m. when Air Force security personnel returned fire at a sedan.

San Antonio Police are investigating, and while no arrests have been made, officials say there is no active threat to the installation.

The base resumed normal operations and reopened its main gate on Saturday afternoon.

Texas Adopts $54.5 Billion Flood Plan

The Texas Water Development Board adopted the state's first comprehensive flood plan, recommending $54.5 billion in strategies to protect the one in six Texans living or working in flood-prone areas.

The nearly 300-page document includes 4,609 recommendations, with nearly half the budget allocated to the "Ike Dike" project, a coastal barrier system for the Houston-Galveston region.

The adopted plan will be delivered to the Texas Legislature next month, with updates required every five years.

Two Texas Gems Among Top 10 US State Parks
