Take Off ARTICLE ICON 1AIRLINES TO ISSUE AUTOMATIC REFUNDS FOR DELAYS The federal government unveiled two new consumer protection rules Wednesday, requiring airlines to issue automatic refunds when flights are canceled or delayed and to disclose baggage and other fees upfront. Under the new rules, tickets purchased directly from airlines, travel agents, and third-party sites are eligible for refunds. Delays of more than three hours for domestic flights and more than six hours for international flights meet the refund threshold.  Airlines also must list and explain all extra fees “clearly, conspicuously, and accurately” on their web platforms or when they provide fare prices offline. Implementation of the new regulations is expected to take at least two years. ARTICLE ICON 1 TENNESSEE BILL ALLOWS TEACHERS TO CARRY GUNS  Tennessee lawmakers passed a measure Tuesday to allow some teachers and staff to carry concealed handguns on public school grounds, and the bill is headed to Gov. Bill Lee for consideration. According to the statute, faculty and staff members must complete 40 hours of approved training each in order to carry a concealed handgun on school grounds. The Republican controlled chamber passed the bill 68-28, with four Republicans joining the Democrats in opposing the measure.  House Speaker Cameron Sexton ordered the galleries cleared after protesters shouted at Republicans and chanted, “Blood on your hands.” The bill comes more than a year after a mass shooting occurred at a private Christian school in Nashville. ARTICLE ICON 1 SURVEY: AMERICA'S TOP FOREIGN PRIORITIES Most Americans say the top priorities of U.S. foreign policy should be protecting the U.S. from terrorist attacks and stopping illegal drugs from entering the country, according to a new Pew Research survey.  The full results are here. The survey shows that other foreign policy goals, such as supporting Ukraine or Israel, or dealing with global climate change, spark more disagreement across political divides. For example, 70% of Democrats say dealing with global climate change is a top priority, while only 15% of Republicans feel that way. But 39% of Republicans say support of Israel is important, compared to 8% of Democrats.
