Aesthetica Art Prize I Spotlighting Talent I

"Blue has no dimensions, it is beyond dimensions," said French artist Yves
Klein, renowned for utilising the tone and developing his signature shade called
International Klein Blue. The hue is often associated with symbolic meanings
such as serenity, stability, inspiration and wisdom. Here we highlight artists
from the Aesthetica Art Prize, who use the tint to create their projects.
Franziska Bernadette
Franziska Bernadette, a basketry and
light artist, imparts a new perspective
on traditional weaving. Breaking free from conventional, rigid weaving techniques, she strives for reinterpretation. Her
installation Inside Out metaphorically symbolises three empowered women. Utilising shadow projections, these sculptures emerge,
adopting diverse forms and aesthetics.

Luciana Abait
Luciana Abait's multimedia works deal
with climate change and environmental fragility. She was born in Argentina and is currently based in Los Angeles where she creates
work about the changing landscapes around her.
Her work invokes metaphorical and practical responses through still and moving images
of the natural world, altered to catch viewers' attention and to inspire action.

Hiroshi Aoki
Hiroshi Aoki is a Japanese-born artist currently based in Tokyo. He has been creating works with one concept since 2010, surveying
how memory and time affect photographs,
and how they appear when visualised. Both memory and time are invisible, however, photography is a visual expression that reflects
the real world. Aoki aims to present these opposites through expression, ultimately transcending the limits of visual art.

Theresa Schubert
Dr. Theresa Schubert is a Berlin-based
artist, researcher and curator exploring unconventional visions of nature, technology and the self. She holds a PhD in Media Art
from Bauhaus-University Weimar. Her practice combines audiovisual media to create immersive installations. Schubert’s aesthetic
lies between alchemy and science fiction,
and her works question anthropocentrism.

Thomas Jenkins
Thomas Jenkins is a visual artist working
with photographic processes. His work
explores colour and abstraction to question what is defined as a photograph in the modern day. The pictures are not intended to
be understood but to be felt, experienced and seen. They are an indulgence into colour, which is a fundamental form of visual
communication.
